The predecessor was Tianjin Dagu Chemical Plant, which was founded in 1939.
In 2004, the joint-stock reform was implemented and Tianjin Dagu Chemical Co., Ltd. and Tianjin Dagu Chemical Investment and Development Co., Ltd. were established. Dagu Chemical has two plants in Tanggu and Lingang. In order to implement the work deployment of Binhai New Area to optimize the urban development space, enhance the urban industrial layout and resolve the urban safety risks, the Tanggu plant will be shut down and enter the disposal stage in 2022, and Dagu Chemical will enter a new stage of transformation and development.
